Part of a growing collection of prestigious wedding venues within Ensarb Estates Foxtail Barns is a truly special place for a wedding. Built on the site of Consall Hall in Staffordshire, this magnificent venue is dynamic and exciting and shares all the hallmarks for professionalism as its sibling venues The Ashes, Hanbury Barns, The Mill Barns and Pendrell Hall. For a photographer it offers a plethora of options for creative portraits. Come rain or shine there’s choices to keep newlyweds separate from their guests whilst exercising cameras. The wedding coordinators run the day with clockwork precision. Be it speeches, ceremony or first dance, as a wedding photographer the team are always guiding you to achieve a well managed day.
Charlotte and Danny had a wonderful day celebrating their marriage with friends and family. I’d struggle to find a better supported bride with an abundant selection of bridesmaids willing and able. Groom Danny equally had his support act with competent best man. Whilst the rain swamped the grounds outside guests enjoyed the bar and being in one another’s company. A small break in the rain happened and we stepped outside for portraits, but in usual fashion I photographed the many human interactions in the lead up to the wedding breakfast.
Often it’s the speeches that really enlighten me about a couple and this was no exception. Once the champagne was poured the traditional pattern of three speeches followed with Bride Charlottes father starting. That tradition broke when Charlotte stood to add a few words. As a photographer I’m always looking for ways I can convey the sense of emotion and fun that this part of the wedding has to offer, I found photographic angles using wide, standard and telephoto lenses to photographically document the this part and I’m very pleased with the results.
Whilst most of the day had a liberal sprinkling of rain water, it lightened in the evening a little so I guided the new Mr and Mrs outside for some creative portraits. Working quickly I used flash lighting and diffusers to make some creative portraits making use of the delightful backdrops that Foxtail has to offer.
