A more intimate wedding such as Laura and Gemma’s is exactly what Rafters at Riverside House does best. Whilst most of my wedding photography is about big parties and lavish celebrations there are plenty of couples that want something scaled down. There are plenty of great wedding venues that can offer this experience in Derbyshire but here is one of the best I’ve enjoyed. 5 minutes further towards Buxton from Bakewell lies the village of Ahford In The Water. It is here that you’ll fine Riverside House. Set upon the banks of the River Wye, with its wonderful grounds and quiet location it is a tranquil spot suited most perfectly for weddings of a smaller nature. Laura and Gemma simply had just 7 wedding guests with closest members of family only. The simplest of group photos was dealt with in just a few moments, and the ceremony was a breeze but no less special. I spent a few minutes with just the two of them enjoying the company of the ducks as they paddled the River Wye, and made portraits and two young women clearly in love.
